The Gymboree Corporation Selects AL Systems to Upgrade and Expand Light-Directed Putting Solution
Gymboree Corp. Selects Long-Time Vendor AL Systems to Support Growth Plan With Expansion and Upgrade of Existing DynaPack Light-Directed Putting Solution
Rockaway, NJ – June 11, 2004 - AL Systems, Inc., a provider of integrated solutions that improve the flow of merchandise through distribution centers, announced today that The Gymboree Corporation, which operates more than 600 specialty retail stores, has selected AL Systems to expand and upgrade their existing light-directed putting solution.
The expansion and upgraded solution was installed recently and will enable Gymboree Corp. to accommodate growing merchandise volumes as stores and sales increase.
AL Systems has provided The Gymboree Corporation with innovative technology solutions to productively and accurately fulfill store orders for many years. A light-directed putting solution enables retailers to pick and "put” merchandise to store orders productively and accurately, decreasing labor costs and reducing inventory, real estate and markdowns.
"As we opened more stores this year, AL Systems helped us eliminate a potential bottleneck," stated Dan Allison, vice president of Logistics for The Gymboree Corporation. "A commitment to servicing our customers was at the core of our decision to expand the packing modules, and AL supported the modules’ rapid deployment.
"It is a pleasure for AL Systems to continue to help The Gymboree Corporation improve its distribution operations,” stated Paul Lightfoot, CEO of AL Systems. "We look forward to helping Gymboree keep down the costs of distribution as they continue to grow.”
