The Client: One of the largest suppliers of CD's, DVD's, Videos and accessories in the country, with annual sales of $1.4 Billion.

Client Need: This client was establishing its Internet presence by providing an e-commerce site that would compete with companies such as Amazon.com and CDNow. They anticipated a spike in direct-to-consumer orders and turned to AL Systems to provide a fast and accurate method for Internet order fulfillment. .

Solutions: AL Systems constructed and supplied four Put-to-Light U-shaped work modules, each containing 100 slots. Using 2-digit displays with beacon lights and hands-free Radio Frequency devices operated by AL Systems' DynaPack Order Fulfillment software, this client is able to process 400 orders across 4 batches simultaneously with accuracy of greater than 99.9%. Worker productivity is also captured and reported.

Results:With each order averaging less than 4 items to "Put", AL provided a system that processes greater than 20,000 orders per shift, which enables same-day turnaround order fulfillment.
